Help needed

As I try to start up Imperium Julianorum my screen displays this error:

Immediately followed by this one:

How can I fix the problems?

is your BI patched to 1.6?

did you have a clean install before you installed IJ?

Yes to both.
I also discovered that now when I try to start up BI, it goes to the initial screen and then crashes to desktop.

hmm sounds to me like you need to delete every thing and then reinstall it

most probably it's a bad installation issue. Make sure that the dos batch after the installation proper does everything right.

Reinstall did not help, the same problem resurfaced

No, now I will, however that doesn't solve the issue of Barbarian Invasion crashing to desktop on launch.

Hmm, I know this is a pain but you may need to unistall RTW/BI then reinstall, then load IJ again.

There is a way around it: change mount entries in export_descr_unit from
"steppe light horse" to "light horse"

I know, I already have done this, and it the same CTD happened..
And now, when I try to start up Rome: Total-War it also does the same thing! Along with Alexander expansion!!

I've seen and had this problem before... First, eradicate all traces of RTW from your computer (that includes BI, Alex and any mods I'm afraid. Back up your save games first) then install RTW. Then BI, then Alex (if you want Alex). Proceed to install IJ. Then get the appropriate patch. THEN it should work. There's probably some tiny thing wrong with your Vanilla install, that a reinstall won't fix. You need to obliterate it, then start from scratch.
