Alot of annoying small glitches

hey BC team, i'd like to thank you guys first for making one of the best mods for m2tw. Im having some small issues that i have overlooked for a while, but now are starting to annoy me.

1) I cant trade things with merchants on the campaign map, is this part of the mod?

2) Alot of texts are missing for me. For example, the exit game option does not show up in the menu during battles, start battle and wait options dont show before a battle(only two mini scrolls where they should be,etc.)

3) When a mouse is over a unit, it doesnt say the unit's morale, if its winning the battle or not (victory seems certain,etc).

-I apologize if any of what may be bugs to me are part of the mod. I have several other mods, and these issues only show up in this mod. These issues happen even after i apply all the BC patches and quickfixes, and i have installed/reinstalled multiple times. Plz help!

this one actually works. Make sure you place the merchant in the facility of the resource. It sometimes doesn't take it on the first time, so you have to reposition it, but that seems to be MTW2 issue.

This is known issue, and there is a fix for it. Look in the fixes thread:

This is due to local setting in the bc.cfg file. There is a text line there that I cannot remember what it was, that needs to be set to '1'.
Someone else remembers?

I have the same issue. I had no problems with BC 1.05 when I used MTWII, but now that I updated to Kingdoms, the menu is missing text. I ran the fix desribed in your post and I am still missing the text I need.

Thanks! I'll try what you said. It would be really helpful if someone would remember that setting! Oh and with the trade thing, it works fine for me in vanilla and in other mods, i cant even have my mouse hover over the resource and tell me what it is or how much its worth. Maybe the text fix or the bc.cfg thing would fix it. Thanks again.

I have tried the fix on the link you provided, unpacked crusades, replaced the text files(except the one i wasnt sp'osed to), and i still have the same problem. Did i do it wrong perhaps? Maybe i should unpack medieval2 instead of crusades?

You mean Dyes(?) in Samarqand for one ? (resource lies in unaccesible desert)
There are few other resources you cant drop your merchant one but i cant remember where they are.

I dont have Kingdoms, so I wouldn't know if there is conflicts. Try not to unpack the Kingdoms nor MTW2 files. If that works, upack the MTW2 and check again...I am thinking it may be due to upacking Kingdoms files.

I have Kingdoms with 1.5 patch and dont have any such UI problems.
Got Americas and Teutonic installed, but neigther of those are unpacked.

Initially, none of the campaigns for Kingdoms were unpacked. The instructions seem to suggest unpacking the Crusades campaign and using those files to update BC's text directory. I also noticed with the installation of BC that the bc.bat file did not get updated with kingdoms.exe; instead it had the medieval2.exe. I made the change manually to correct that issue.

I have also blown away the BC setup a second time and re-apply the Crusades text files without success.

Any suggestions on a next step?

Ok. Have you done the following? (follow to the letter!!)

Install M2TW. Install the patch 1.2 (make sure it matches the same language version as your original) do the same for patch 1.3 (choosing the wrong lang version can mess up your installation).

THen download and run BC from here:

make sure you select the right language version when prompted.

if you have vista, make sure to download the VISTA FIX from the same post on the above thread.

Then download and apply patch 1.05 here:
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=142288

there are another 4 fixes in this thread. I recommend applying them too (if your not sure about how to apply them then just ask)

I also recommend one final defrag before running the game (it certainly makes BC run quicker for me)

If you have and the game is still not working i recommend a full clean install (it seems to do the trick for most people). Unistall M2TW and then go into C/Program Files/Sega and delete the sega folder. Then type "regedit" into search/run and delete any entries which have "Sega/M2TW" under the software headings (delete your save games too!). Then i recommend a defrag.

This clears any remnants from your pc. Then do the above starting with installing M2TW. If this is too laborious, try reinstalling BC. If it doesnt help do a fresh clean install of everything.

Lemme know if you still have a problem after this and we'll investigate further.

Did you changed the bat, so it would launch kingdoms.exe ?!?
BC is MTW2 mod not kingdoms expantion.

medieval2.exe @bc.cfg

That is my bat file and it wokrs perfect.

So basically, BC does not work with Kingdoms, but the installation of Kingdoms does not prevent BC from working. So what it comes down to is I need to use the MTWII DVD to run BC and the Kingdoms DVD to play any Kingdoms based mods.

I still have the problem after reinstalling BC, and i can't afford to do a complete reinstall since my medieval 2 DVD was destroyed a long time ago, and i dont feel like buyin another one just to get a mod to work. Arkat, i had the same issue as you, as soon as i installed kingdoms, the txt went wacko, and i may faintly remember not having this problem with 1.0 (im not sure). Have you been able to fix the problem?
