How do i get it to work???
i bought Medieval 2 total war gold edition yesterday and installed it but when i try to play it goes into an endless black screen with a timer spining, also when i click on the shortcut on the desktop an error message appears saying
"An unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediatly. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
If anyone could tell me what's wrong and how to fix it in words i can understand that would be a big help
also my systems information is
operating system: Microsoft Windows Xp Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20 GHZ (2 CPUs)
memory: 512MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904
thanks

Re: How do i get it to work???
Unless you did something else besides install the game, something happened when it installed. Uninstall and reinstall it.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

Re: How do i get it to work???
It says you have no sound. If you don't have sound via card or onboard chip it can find the drivers to, directx won't load and game won't load.
