No I don't do that because I don't see the point in doing it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the aim of the game is to capture as many settlements as possible. But if you abandon them after capturing it'll take pretty long to finish the campaign I guess
I only once or twice sacked a town when I desperately needed some cash, but I didn't abandon it afterwards but I tried to rebuild everything as fast as possible...

I once used it create a barrier of rebel states along my north western frontier playing as the Turks. Those rebel cities were filled with triple gold units after they rebelled and the endless attacks by Poland were stopped. And like Kiljaden I use the sack and sell tactic during crusades. The only thing I do different is that I sell / gift the city to the pope. This makes him very happy and since he will lose that city within a couple of turns ensures that a next crusade is called which will be done by my general who happened to be in the area![]()
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.
Tosa will be missed.
I do what a few others others have said when Crusades are called. I usually send a large army over to the Middle-East and get as much cash from them as possible before returning home.
If I'm playing a faction like the Danes or Turks then yeah, otherwise I'm just expanding sloowly but steadily.
When I'm at war with a faction, and know I can't win, I do it, and try and hit as many cities as possible before my army is destroyed, usualy the peasents rebel and turn the city rebel, given me a buffer against the overly strong enemy

I don't, because I conquer slow enough as it is...
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)
