Icon1 Spearman charge (and siege placing)

I have two questions and am too lazy to spend time making an experiment on custom battle to work it out.

Firstly, I have my spearmem (not long pikes or nothing) ready in formation. If an enemy infantry (swordsmen say) charges, will they be stronger if they charge too, or wait and brace the attack. Or will it be something like more deaths on both sides if they charge, and less deaths on both sides if they don't.

Secondly, as is the real life tactic, are swordsmen atcually more effective than spearmen in a tight gap on TW. If so, does this also mean that on a siege, swordsmen should go on walls, and spearmen for defending breaches / gates?

    Thanks.

well im not sure how charging and counter charging works so i cant actually answer the first part of ur question, but when it comes to the second, i have found no difference what-so-ever in the way spearmen and swordsmen act regarding on them being on the walls or the gates. ppl put spearmen by the gates since they expect cavalry to come charging and coz the enemy general (a prime target in every battle, but especially in sieges) is usually mounted.
