Default Looking for a BI Mod

Sometime ago I played BI on a much bigger map than regular Vanilla BI.
Forgot where I downloaded it from.
I played as the ERE. It was fun. The Sassanid's really tooned me up in the beginning. Were it not for me camping out on a river crossing, I would have taken a major beating from the Sassanids.
I was really under the cosh for awhile.

In Europe, all I could really do was hide behind my city walls vs the Huns.
Fighting them in the field got my troops slaughtered.
Defending a city was much easier against the Huns than fighting them in the field.
They ended up going after the WRE.

I didn't have any rebellions like the WRE. I allied with the rebel WRE in North Africa.
It was very much like playing the Oda clan in Shogun TW. Under the gun to hold onto what you have. It takes awhile before you can take any new territories. Using hills and rivers not because it makes sense, but because if you don't, you have no chance of winning.

Anyway, a couple of things I am looking for.

    1) Four turn per years. For me this is a must. It was the main thing that turned me off BI. Before I know it my family members are old geezers about to croak.

    2) Bigger map. Gotta have a big map with lots more cities than vanilla.
Wouldn't mind seeing the Sassanids have some one else to fight apart from the ERE. After the ERE, the Sassanids were my favs in BI.
I much prefer the east to the west in RTW, and its carried over to BI.

    3) Brutally tough on both the West Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire. Not a must, but would be nice.

    Suggestions anyone?

Based on this description I'm positively sure you're talking about Rio's mod (Invasio Barbarorum Flagellum Dei). Enjoy it.

Ruina Rome is pretty tough but far from back breaking to both the WRE and the ERE as well as provides three other factions in the east besdies the Sassanids and ERE in the form of Armenia, the Lahkmids, and the Helaphites (I probably mispelled those really bad but I dont usually pay attention to much to them cause im crushing them under Roman sandals.) This mod would be ideal to become used to IBFD and is considered the mama mod.

After that I would suggest IJ because is is quite difficult in maintaining a united Empire seeing as you have to deal with all the enemies and limited income and religious unrest.

Rio's is also tough to say the least. Set more towards the fall of the West you must deal with a greatly reduced WRE or as the ERE an unruly population, the powerful Sassanids, and the growing threat of the Huns. It is less focused on the East but still quite a challenge and has an expanded map.

All of these are challenging and have the expanded map east and more settlements you are looking for and 4 years per turn. Since they all install into their own folder I would suggest giving them all a try and deciding which one fits you best. These mods are what BI Vanilla wishes it could be.

Where do I find the download for Ruina Roma?
I didn't see it in the downloads section.

Sounds like a good place to start.

    Thanks!

My guess is that you are looking for the momma . We have 4 independent and complete-on-their-own mods.

Which Mod has the most cities?

I am really enjoying RR but some parts of the map seem rather sparse.
    Like Asia Minor, Sicily etc.

I know some people don't like having lots of cities, but me, I love em.
