I just dl'ed this mod

Help?
step 3 says
"How to Start:
* Using the shortcut in the start menu
* Using the MTW2 Launcher
* Executing C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\The_Long_Road.bat
"
but when i want to put the dir to install in, it wont let me put the ".bat" at the end....
What am i doing wroung?
Step 3 is talking about different ways of running TLR not installation.
Since I don't quite understand what your saying about install, I'll go broad.
1. Install Medieval Total War II DO NOT install Kingdoms, not compatible (yet)
2. Download and Install MTW II patch 1.2 (1.3 confirmed to work as well).
3. Download and Install TLR
Launch via desktop shortcut, start bar, or the .bat
If you still have problems please post your computer specs and any other modifications you have. Some override vanilla files thus incompatible with TLR (will cause crash).

What is your system specs? What did you do before the ctd? Was any other program running when you started up MTW II, etc.
The more info you can give, the more I can help otherwise I cannot.

How odd, what did you use to start it up? Also, I take it you followed my steps in the post above right?
Lastly where do you live, or more appropriately what game version do you have? North America, European, etc.
If you have an non english version you have to download the hotfix at the end of Tornnights post here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=98729

is this mod compatible with a no cd crack?
i use it so that i preserve my dvd.
if its not compatible i will have to reinstall the mod?
i am planning on downloading it
I believe it is.
To check, take the original file and copy it into another folder (I call mine pit stop). The copy and paste the no-cd crack and override the orginal file. Play the game.
If it doesn't work, then replace the no-cd with the original or try a different no-cd.
Remember to always scan your no-cd files since some maybe virus'![]()

ok thanks gonna try it and see if it works
never had problems with virus on no cd cracks but i always scan them>
Only had a problem once and a nasty one at that. Luckly Comodo stopped it and avg (a little slow on the action) got rid of it.
Anyways, I haven't heard of any problems with MTW II's so you should be safe.
