Free Upkeep Units?
Hello,
According to Faust, militia units are free upkeep units when garrisoned in a city / castle! But is there a limit to the number of these that are free?
Or can i have a full stack militia army in every settlement?
The reason i ask is, ive been reading other threads where people have been talking about a citys "quantity of free garrison units"???

Re: Free Upkeep Units?
yes, there is usually a limit, but it depends on the level of settlement and possibly any mod you're playing. some mods also allow free upkeep in a castle. you can look it up under the respective building card (city walls), where it says "free upkeep: x". free upkeep is only for units you are able to recruit in that city (so no free upkeep for spear militia, if you can only recruit town militia). you also see in the garrisons unit roster which units are free upkeep - their unit card is darker in color.

Does it matter then what type of unit is your "free city upkeep" unit?
I.e could i have a couple of retinue lonwbowben as my free upkeey unit, or does it have to be militia units?
