Have you ever found a faction ending up somewhere it shouldn't?

I once came across the English in Spain, and the Venetians in the mountains of Turkey. The English had lost their home provinces to the Scottish (who for once actually moved!) and the Venetians to the Milanese.

So, ever found factions in funny places?

I have seen Sicily only having regions around and including Frankfurt, and Portugal having only Dublin and Cannveron(Welsh region).

I took over Denmark and Norway when I played Spain during my first battle campaign a couple of years ago.

Now that I'm playing the HRE, I'm obsessed with dominating all of Poland, the Balkans, the Baltic countries, Hungry, Antwerp Region, Burgess, and Constantinople. Just wait till I get close to Russia......by that time I'll be nearing bankruptcy so I guess I'll just have to massacre and exterminate the native population so I can earn some much needed mulah and re-settle my own German peasants in their place......mwuah ha ha ha ha ha!

I also want to take over all of Italy too, but that will have to wait since the Papal States are a big pain and Milan is just not leaving me alone. Those Milanese always gots coin, so I'm careful about seiging their cities too early in the game. I'm also worried about the French (I've become their Vassal just to keep the peace.....but I'm going to revolt and back stab them when the time is right). Those Frenchies are always colluding with Denmark, the Bizzies and Milan against the HRE so I have to be cautious right now......but just you wait, I'm going to unleash my dogs of war on them and create a Rebelion that will make the French Revolution seem like the 1989, 2 day War against Panamanian General Manuel Noriega!

As Denmark I had migrated to the egypt region once. In the same game, Turkey ended up where Denmark usually is and nothern russia. Also, Sicily was in Turkey's old place and hungary took most of russia, moving russia to the middle of europe with like 2 regions. They were all over.

In my current English campaign, I've taken all of the British Isles while the Scots are building a rather strong kingdom over the bones of the HRE.

As England I conquered a nice kingdom in Outremer. After I conquered the entire map eat of Constantinople the French became my arch enemies again. They attacked my western strong point Sofia from Budapest. Because every one was appalled that they attacked the holy kingdom (me) they were attacked by every one especially the pope. The French ended up with having only Budapest, the pope controlled the former French regions in France and the English (me) controlled eastern part of the map.

The funniest place I have ever seen a faction at was the Moors in northern Greece/Macedon, although I think it might have happened because of the jihad that had been called earlier .

It was still suprising to see a Muslim faction so deep in Christendom.

As Sicily, I had early on defeated the rebels at Tunis and the Moors at Algiers, thus initiating a reconquista of sorts to drive the Moorish scum back into Iberia. But when my army reached the only woodland in all of the Marrakesh region, I made a quite interesting discovery: there, waiting to spring an ambush, was Councillor Nicolo... the Venetian faction heir... with no additional troops other than his bodyguard of nineteen men. Also, using the toggle_fow cheat, I was able to note that there was not a trace of a Venetian army or fleet within hundreds of miles. 'What a strange, strange occurance,' I murmured to myself.

This story, however, does not have a happy ending for the Venetian geographical phenomenon; though I was allied with Venice at the time, I attacked Nicolo and, after a brief and frankly hilarious battle, eliminated them without losing more than a dozen men. Also, the leader of the force, a captain named Giovanni, was offered the 'Man of the Hour' offer, which I accepted; Giovanni de Medici (ironically having the same name as one of the members of the Florentine banking family of the Renaissance) proved to be one of the most effective leaders in establishing my western Sicilian territories. Luckily, when one of my diplomats reached Venice itself, they were more than happy to conclude an armistice, and in fact expressed their desire to rekindle the old alliance.

To this day, no one knows how Nicolo (presumably) Selvo got to Morocco in the first place.

In my first campaign as England (playing vanilla) i saw Portugese migrate to Wales and attack me and Scots from there. Also later on in the campaign, Fatimids landed in northern italy and conquered Milan.
And it was a amfibious landing, four full stacks.
It was funny to watch what they gonna do there, acctualy they smashed Milanese and Venetians that confronted them there.

in a game as sicily, i expelled all the italian factions besides the pope from italy. The ventians migrated towards the byzantines and replaced them entirely, the milanese maintained their holdings in france but also had an oupost at valancia.

Later on the hungarians were limited to western asia minor and the byzantines to cyprus
