Have they Fixed my Billmen? :P

Hi, it's been ages since I played Med2, but the last time I did my lovely billmen ( ok so I use them as flanking fodder... .) had bugged attacks on account of them using two handed weapons. Has this been fixed?

There used to be a bug affecting 2h units attacking Cavalry, but that was fixed in the 1.2 patch (a little over a year ago).

However, the shield bug being fixed in the same patch (without stat re-balancing) has left 2h units pretty underpowered against shield-equipped infantry. Billmen having armor piercing attacks does help a bit though.

I got M2TW Gold a couple months ago, and of course immediately found and installed the 1.3 and 1.5 patches. I have been addicted to the English and HRE since day one

Personally I have found that regular billmen with one or two armor upgrades facing off against AI spearmen do very well. Granted, they seem to get tired a bit faster than spearmen...
