    Default Elven Generals

Ok, the idea of the M2TW family tree is that characters are born ,live, die and are succeeded by their children and other family members.
    Just like in real life..
But the elves are immortal so will they live forever until they die in combat?
If so will they just be replaced by other Generals. If not will they continue to be born and none will ever die??
    :hmmm::hmmm:Good question or good question ? ?

In TW games the amount of generals you have is tied to how many settlement you own. I think that makes sense because if the Elves start to expand their birth rate and population will no though go up. The Elven generals should probably be given an "Immortal" trait so they never die and the trigger can be given so that each son gets his father's trait so it wouldn't just be starting Elven generals that would be Immortal

Ya, we should always keep their birthrate generally low, and of course, if they die in battle, they die.

So are generals going to age in this game? I know they didn't in the LotR Total War version which I thought was a neat feature.

Yea but my point is eventually your going to have a ton of Elven generals that will never die and will just take up resources when you pay them their wages

How about this: the Noldor Elves start with about 4 generals. Elrond, Elladan, Elrohir and Glorfindel. If we are going to set the idea of cavarly recruitable in cities trough then we could also make it possible that generals can be recruited from cities. That way there would not be an overload of generals in your realm, and you can decide for yourself how many generals you want/need.

Why would the team make them non-Immortal?

Hey, I got a great idea! How about if elves won't die, when they "die" in campaign because of natural causes there could be message that family member/general had went to Valinor. What you think about this? I think that it works better than regular short death.

This is probably the best way to handle it. As far as I know the amount of time a character can live is hardcoded into the game. In the early stages of FATW I think that was their planned workaround for the problem as well.

you can change the max ages for characters in the game it's just that the age counts for all races and characters(still with the 1 year game timeframe I don't see anyone dieing of old age)

i don't like the Valinor thing, i don't want strange Elven Named Generals leading my troops

I WANT GLORFINDEL, ELROND, ELLADAN, ELROHIR, CIRDAN
Glorfindel, the Lord of the House of the Golden Flower

...Glorfindel was tall and straight, his hair was of shining gold, his face fair and young and fearless and full of joy, his eyes were bright and keen, and his voice like music, on his brow sat wisdom, and in his hand was strength...

... the Elven-wise, lords of the Eldar from beyond the furthest seas. They do not fear the Ringwraiths, for those who have dwelt in the Blessed Realm live at once in both worlds, and against both the Seen and the Unseen they have great power...

But is it really realistic to have Elrond and his sons leaving before the end of the war of the ring?

Why would it be? If you have browsed through forums you found many much more unrealistic things.

I really think elven generals should be able to die in battle, anything else would be weird imo, but if it is possible,
what about the ability to send unwanted elven generals packing, say.. A general has developed a series of
undesirable traits, then instead of paying the general's upkeep, send it westward and across the sea to be rid of them..

Although I'm not sure if this can be implemented..

I personally think that there should be some kind of script that would give all elven generals age, i dunno, 16 every turn. Because all would be that young, they won't be able to die of old age. Of course, there could be another script about "Leaving to Valinor" that would semi-randomly "kill" elven generals
