I was wondering, out of curiosity, as despite having played RTW for many years, am still faily new to M2TW and it's kingdoms expansions. So, a few opinion based questions that could cause lots of discussion.
Question 1:
Which version of M2TW has the quickest running battles. (The reason being my computer is very slow with M2TW battles and so I am keen to find the fastest)
Question 2:
Which version of the game is more fun and why?
M2TW
M2TW:Americas
M2TW:Brittania
M2TW:Crusades
M2TW:Teutonic
Cheers
Sorry about the bad grammar etc in my first post

Re: A few questions
If you mean among the original game and its expansions, I don't think one has battles that are significantly faster than the other. Make sure to have all settings on low, of course, including unit scale. Using a mod will likely make the battles slower.
Question #2 is of course a matter of opinion but I like the original game. I find that the expansions mainly focus on one conflict and once you strike the decisive blow you have basically won. If you're good at the game, it will happen quite early, and note that RTW was a much more difficult game. In the grand campaign at least a rival across the map has a chance to build a mighty empire and challenge you later on, plus the Mongols and Timurids provide tough opposition.

Re: A few questions
I think the answer to your second question depends upon what you are interested in/what movies you have seen recently/books you may have read/etc.
I find that if I have just seen a movie on the the crusades I will enjoy that most. If Braveheart has been on TV, I am there guiding Wallace in Brittania.
I like the expansions as I find them more manageable time-wise. A full campaign of the main game is a pretty serious undertaking. If you have anything going on in RL you may find the smaller Kingdoms campaigns more manageable and focused.
