Getting SS installed

Well, I've been trying to do this for a while now...

I had BC installed b4, uninstalled it, removed all files of my M2TW folder, re-installed M2TW.

Now I wanted to install kingdoms but it stopped and said "cannot update from version 1.0 to 1.03" (patch).

So what should I do? I thought I might download patches 1.1-3 and install them manually. Any idea?

and after installing kingdoms, can I just install+play SS without any trouble ?

Well I un-and re-installed the game 2-3x now and it still doesnt work =/

I'm not an expert on this subject but all I can say is just make sure all spyware is turned off because that can cause a lot of problems

Happened to me, I just tried again straight after and it worked. If that doesnt, then obviously your best bet is to do it manually

Perhaps there are some left over values in your registry that are preventing the installation of the patches?

I remember having similar problems when kingdoms first came out.

Use a recommended registry cleaner - try CCleaner.

make sure your copy of Kingdoms DVD is clean.
don't run filemonitor or process monitor or similar progs in the same session prior to installing.

It worked now, I had to reinstall the whole game, then install patch 1.2 manually and get it auto-patched to 1.3 during kingdoms installation.

As this topic is already open, what are the extra patch 1.1 options for exactly? Are they worth getting? Any advice?

You mean the 6.1 patch options? If that is so, go to the Mods section and look up every mod individually(that is mentioned in the 6.1 patch).
