    Default Battlefield: Bad Company

Well, if you got the demo, then good for you. Fully destructible environments, class system, tanks, IFV's, machineguns, helicopters, artillery, big BOOMs, .50 cal rifles, etc. what's not to like? I think it's pretty awesome, save for some slight . . . stupidities and liberties here and there (which the Battlefield series loves to do for some odd reason).

Anyone else looking to get this game? Hopefully someone can mod it out so that it's more accurate and/or realistic.

No, I don't have an article, all I have is me, my controller, keyboard and my brain.

    I thought it was alright.
Graphics were nice and so was the destructiable enviroments.
But something felt off about this game.
    Like there was something wrong.

Its called the "EA effect." Everything they touch begins to suck after a while.

I felt the same thing, because I kept comparing it with CoD4, but then I eventually just said "Eh, whatever."

    Well it wasn't that.
Damn can't put my finger on it.
I did like the characters judging from the demo, they seem to be quite interesting.

Tried the demo...didn't play it for more than 10 minutes...like TB666 said something just didn't feel right...it's too freeform for me (plus I've never been a BF fan b/c of this...)

Didn't know the demo was out yet, I'll have to grab that soon. Looks pretty interesting, I have always been a fan of the BF games and as long as it has the classic fun gameplay, I'll be happy. Destructible environments, improved graphics and fun vehicles sound good. The light-hearted comedy looks like it might be a nice distraction too.

I just played the demo recently, and I did enjoy it, though it felt more like Call of Duty. I remember launching a grenade on accident and bringing down a tree that almost fell on me.

Yah I love the new demo, the positive aspects of the game are good enough for me to forget the bad ones. The only that really bothers me is what I call fake realsim, like using real world guns, but giving them 50 round clips that look like 30 round clips. But thats a minor inconvenience.

That's what bothered me the most. I happen to have an unnatural fascination with guns (and weapons in general) and when they made the AK107 and AUG shoot the same as the M416, and the PKM shoot the same as an M249 Para and other similar weapon issues, that pissed me off to no end. But in the end, it's still good fun.

Not only did they give you 50 round mags, but they also only gave you 150 rounds (200 including the one already charged in your weapon), which is significantly low, considering that you can engage targets from 30 meters plus. It's as if they were expecting you to die. I mean, sure there are some munitions depots here and there, but they are extremely difficult to find, you would have to memorize their positions,.

People are expecting realism too much from games now. I understand it's fairly easy to make a gun have 30 rounds instead of 50 or to implement that different guns are different guns but it's still fun. Theres plenty of realistic games, to me this is one of those "Alright, I want to go kill alot of mothaas and blow something up." games.

I like it when FPS's are realistic. I do not like arcade shooters, except for Tribes (Unreal is alright). It's just my tastes, because I'm a realism guy overall, like movies like Wanted (that assassin movie) turn me off, because they're just so bulls.

But that's me, I like realism.

I think that realistic shooters are becoming more of a trend, because we have better technology, and back in the day when we first played Tribes or Unreal Tournament, we didn't have the technology, let alone, the concept of going prone, or aiming down the sights, but games like America's Army and Call of Duty (1) changed that, and because people liked those games so much, it's becoming a trend.

You can say whatever you want about Dice but they certainly know how to make good trailers

Exactly, the whole concept about bad company is meant to be unrealistic FROM the start.

From the characters we see in B-company, they are basically people who don't do things in a realistic way.
