Well you can sally forth from your castles so that you can control your troops.

Or you face them in open battle

Mass peasants. As many armies of peasants as possible. They do well in auto resolve. Just make sure you outnumber them.

omg, if that were serious, that would be epic. Anyways, in hotseat, just do like you would normally do in a regular campaig, that is run and retreat, so that when they take all of those cities, their armies get tied down. Otherwise, hordes will just keep spawning on the edge of the map.

I think he means as many stacks as you can get.
so recruit around one stack per turn.

Well, if you were Turkey its really easy defending against the Mongols.

Plant 4-5 rows of stakes in front of your gate, put 2 units of Naffatun between the towers of the gatehouse, and lots of Saracen Militia/Dism. Siphaphi Lancers. In a city you could take 1-2 stacks out in a phyrric defeat, but in a Citadel you'll never lose.

As Egypt...well, you get the Naffatun, but your Spearmen, Archers, and Infantry are all quite inferior. Probably going to have to lose some cities.

Search the fora on this subject and you will find more information than you could ever want.

well but in hotseat its easier than in a normal single player, as you can basically take over control of the mongols and timurids and therefore can either weaken them due to "tactical mistakes" or could unleash them on an enemy of your choice

regarding a good defense against Mongols and Timurids?

best is to give the Aztecs a neighboring province and make sure they go to war with each other. I promise you probably have never seen a war like that! I did so and it backfired as the Azzies overran everything

yes the "Azzies" are way to strong, I gave em Riga once and some turns later they controlled nearly everything from france to russia, by the time the mongols arrived they were crushed by the aztecs.

its one way to deal with them a dangerous one though!

Well the Aztecs need to start somewhere with a good pagan rate, which is afaik not close to the mongol spawning point and will eventually create a bigger threat than the mongols.

hotseat is a change in the medieval2.preferences.cfg file that allows more than one faction to be played in a campaign at the same time.

    Thanks bro. Appreciated.
So, how you play it. Like, you r playing for Genoese and Spain at he same time??
And can they (your two factions) make alliances with each others??
