Having discussed this with a member of the Chivalry total war team, and following his suggestion, I have decided to start a thread to deal with a project to further perfect Chivalry total war: namely a more complete voicemod. after much thought, I have decided that some of the factions have the wrong languages attached (conspicuously HRE and England). here are some of the languages that will go into this mini-mod(hopefully):
definitly:
1-old french
2-middle english
3-old high german
4-old spanish
possibly:
old polish and russian.
here are a few commands (early middle english(up to c.1250), southern dialect-still being researched, and may be a bit innacurate)source: http://quod.lib.umich.edu/m/med/lookup.html :
unit names:
knights=knighten (though its better to use old french cevaler(from chanson de roland-the ))
sargeant=??
stop, halt=> stonde(th), stande(th) (lit. stand up)
run=> rinne(th), erne(th)
move, go=> Gath; to banere
fight!=> to fiht ward; toward fiht! (similar in for to : to helle ward)
form line=> ?(not yet found-the only words found so far are 1300 onwards)
taunts:
fie!=> fi on thee(judging from the sources, it was used in a derogatory manner
dogs!=> curren doggen (or just= doggen)
little obvious=> hellehounden!
these words and phrases may seem easy to pronounce, but actually, germans would find this FAR easier to pronounce...why? here:
o=bone a=father i=feet or bit ou=hund in german (but a long u) e= et tu? (in latinor french pronounciation, but at the end of words is a bit like sonne (in german)
u=hund ee=long et. oo=long version of bone y(as a vowel)=feet ae=hat
gh= nicht (again in german)
all letter are pronounced..
