Unable to find building_battle localised string 'temple_perkunas'

Any help? I wasn't able to run the installer, so I just jacked all the files (save a few misc. folders that seemed to be dead-ends; I had all the files and couldn't find the random, empty folders) from my friend, then installed the 6.1 patch. When I try running the game, it doesn't get beyond the first loading screen, but it does start up.

Have you installed Kingdoms and at least the 1.3 patch?

otherwise a complete reinstall may be the answer.
