Advanced platemail uses?

I've noticed there are a number of factions that can build the armour factory that makes advanced plate, but a complete and utter lack of any units that actually use advanced platemail. So for instance, Egypt has no unit that actually can upgrade to advanced plate, not even their tab-axemen or their Royal Mamluks, so what purpose does advanced platemail serve a nation that can't fit their troops?

Does it have some other bonus I'm unaware of?

Is there actually a unit the Egyptians have that utilizes this advanced platemail?

i doubt any egyptian units use advanced plate, but i think european units like gothic knights use it

Can't their bodyguard upgrade to advanced plate? Haven't played Egypt in forever so I don't remember anything...

I wanna say that General's Bodyguards upgrading to advanced plate is possible for all factions, but I could be wrong.

As far as units themselves go, there are a few that use Advanced Plate, but not even all European factions do (I'm pretty sure that the Dismounted Broken Lances and Dismounted Men-at-Arms for Italian factions use it).

Other than that, maybe there are some traits or ancillaries that can be gained (or have increased chances) from an Armory Factory being present?
