    Default Help - Installation issues

I am installing RTW on a different computer to the one I normally use, but when the installer gets half way through installing this message pops up:

    ---------------------------
    Feature transfer error
    ---------------------------
    Feature: Rome: Total War data
    Component: Data
    File: D:\data2.cab
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

Then the installer closes. What is this problem, and what do I do to fix it?

    Many thanks,

Is your drive fast enough? Most crcs are transfer rate not fast enough.

I've played Rtw before on this computer, but it was the three disk version. Now I am trying the 1 disc version, would that make a difference? How do I find out how fast my drive is?

Basically what I get is this:

I'm pretty sure my driver is too slow, which is odd because I can play the 3 disc version:hmmm:

Things that I have read that can cause such problems are bad memory, slow drive, external drive, overclocked memory, motherboard, cd-crack, emulation software, bad uninstall of previous install, trying to install two copies on the same drive. Do any of these fit the bill?

I dont think its bad memory, but it might be slow driver, bad uninstall of
previous game. Just out of interst, how do I correct bad unistallment?

Try the RTW uninstaller first. If it doesn't work, you have to manually uninstall it. Delete the RTW folder, delete the shortcut from your desktop, run a registry cleaner or run regedit to remove all traces of RTW. After that you should be okay.
