How to switch retinue?

ya i know it's a ''noob'' question but I have been wondering this ever since RTW as I have heard of people doing it so i was wondering how?Any ideas?

Drag and drop in on the card of the general you want to have it. That general has to be in the same army as the original owner. You can only switch certain retinues like the holy lance, sword or the holy grail and the sacred bunny. Just give it a try.

This is a list of all retinue available in vanilla, and tells you which are transferable.

Edit: Forgot to add you must select a nation, as some retinue are faction specific.
