CTD with 6.1...the first
I've been playing the hell out of SS 6.1 and have had no CTDs until now. I'm playing Late Era Aragon at about turn 50. The crash comes during the turn change when the Polish AI takes its turn. (I've noticed Poland being involved in some of the other crashes mentioned in this forum.)
I have no sub-mods installed. The only tweaks I've done were to Russian axemen stats, and that was two campaigns ago.
Here's the log, though I don't think it says anything:
21:03:48.203 [system.rpt] [always] CPU: SSE2
21:03:48.203 [system.rpt] [always] ==== system log start, build date: Aug 3 2007 version bld-medieval2-kingdoms-104 (45562) ===

21:08:19.578 [system.rpt] [error] Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.
Thanks.

Wolfgrin
from shenryyr's post:
3. If your issue is a CTD, find your system.log file and post the last 10 lines or so as a spoiler (use [ spoiler ] system.log [ /spoiler ] without the spaces) to save on space.
4. If your system.log doesn't reveal anything obvious, try opening your config file:
* C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\Stainless_Steel_Kingdoms.cfg
* and change the line reading:
* level = * error
* to read:
* ;level = * error
* then repost your system.log (remember to use spoiler tags because it will be longer!)

there's a 4.30 minute gap between the last entry and the crash.
does the problem occur if you reload the game and try again?

Re: CTD with 6.1...the first
Yes, I tried reloading the same save and an older one (well, about two minutes older) and got the crash three different times.
I'll try posting my system log as a spoiler.
I've moved on to another campaign (with Kiev), and it's working fine after 100 turns.
Thanks for the reply.

I got the same mid-AI-turn crash when I tried to alter some unit stats. I reverted to backups and it runs like a beauty
