    Default fun with realism

With hit points so low fighting will take hours if most unit hit point is 1 and there defense is like 12-17 what the best way to balance fun with realism. who has a good idea of how it should work? : Opinion I would like fights to last no more then 45 min or less because after 30 min I get tired of seeing the same animations.

I prefer mid-long battles. Short ones are tactically dull.

I love huge clashes and extensive melee! Waiting for the perfect charge.

Short fights remove strategy, units would get eaten up so quickly there would be little time for any real positioning, flanking, ambushing etc.

Giving them low defence to make them die faster would also make archers very overpowered, no?

I think in this game battles SHOULD last longer. Like real LOTR battles.

longer battles are more fun to play especially with a battle with over 3000 soldiers on each team because that means you can have all sorts of strategies going on usually battles with up to 10000 people in the battle the fight goes across the entire battlemap which means you have to monitor dozens of minor battles and then with general cam on it gets pretty crazy(just wish my computer took 10000 units better than it does now)

i love those battles. 2 full armies against the Mongol Hordes. Send some of your Calvary to take out missile units. Battle occurs. Send heavy Calvary to wipe out front infantry. Battle Occurs. Send in Spearman to take out enemy Calvary. Battle Occurs. Send in infantry to wipe out the rest Battle Occurs. Enemy routs. Then reforms. Battles are all over the MAP!

And will we really be able to have that many soldiers on the Battlefield in this mod? that would be awesome!

Epic battles are indeed fun! Especially afterwards, the bodies everywhere with small units still fighting it out! Make excellent screenshot material. Wish I still had meh screenies

For LotR though, realism and epicness go hand in hand. Just has to be done.

don't worry, the team will manage this, and things will be fixed in the beta.
