Default Not as good as Rome

Medieval Total War II is nowhere near as good as Rome. The Middle Ages is one of the most boring periods of history for me, not to mention that its very hard to move cavalry in this game! The factions are extremely boring and the period is far too long. This game runs from the 11th century to the 16th century. It's irritating to keep updating your forces.

Another thing, the map at the bottom of the screen isnt as good as Rome's.

Why did you get Medieval Total War 2 if you think (oh my god an opinion!) that the Middle Ages are boring?

But I will admit, Rome does have some advantages over MTW2: choosing your faction heir; a nicer (in my opinion) campaign map; the fact that infantry won't back up when they charge.

But I also still think it's fun.

well it isnt CA's fault that u prefer the ancient era, Cavalry is easy as hell unless u play DLV, I agree a bit on the factions there are to much overused units like feudal knigths and honestly the updating of your army is fun u can really see how armor progresses with this and the gunpowder event gives a nice twist to everything.

btw this place is to discuss m2tw, not to rant incoherently about it without giving valid arguments.

well the ages are just a matter of preference
i personally love the medieval ages just as much as the roman times

cavalry are heavily armored, and thus are slower. besides, in MTWII, the charge is more important and more devastating than those in RTW

the campaign runs as long as you want it to. if you complete the campaign in two years, then good for you and you can continue as long as you want to

are you talking about africa? because CA is of course the BEST at keeping things historically accurate

i have one word for you: MODS

It is true however that Middle Ages were not that much into total war unlike the ancient roman times.
There are good parts and bad parts in both games. The succession in MTW2 is one of the most annoying parts.

I prefer M2 tbh, single unit per turn recruitment slots got on my nerves lol, having to use many different cities to put an army together.

But as Theseus quite wisely said: mods.

Mods > original game, almost always in TW cases!

Almost, indeed. There are some downsides on certain mods, where modders make some factions to overpowered.

If your post had anything the sort of constructive criticism I might be able to give you a better response than just if you don't like the bloody medieval ages then don't buy a bloody medieval game!
