Default HOI 2 - does it ever make sense to demobilize?

Playing as Germany, I've conquered everything on Europe and Asia except for a couple minor neutral powers, since China recently caved in and agreed to be a puppet. My only remaining enemy is America, and their land army is pathetic (about 30 divisions). I don't actually have that much occupied land, because I turned everything into puppets. Given that I'm spending 180 I.C. on supplies every day, not to mention upgrade costs (564 I.C.), would it make sense to get rid of about 100 divisions or so? I want to keep all the motorized/mech/tank groups, but I don't really think that I need all the garrison/infantry division. Then again, I'm set on standing army, and I might need them again in the future, but I'm still not sure.

Create a custom event that when you land troops in American Militia forces rise up everywhere. Like up to half their manpower in militia.

That will make it loads of fun!

Conquer EVERYTHING (stockpile as much money as you can in the meantime).

Then, LIBERATE ALL NATIONS, AND THEN RELEASE THEM + CURRENT PUPPETS

Move you entire army back to Germany (If you are playing as Germany), and wait between 1-4 years. Also kick EVERYONE out of your alliance.

After 1-4 years have passed, declare war on everyone, or expand slowly and replay your conquests, only with more nations.
Everything the State says is a lie, everything it has is stolen.

State is the name of coldest of all the cold monsters. Coldly it lies; and this slips from its mouth: "I, the state, am the people"
