    Default Important Buildings And Wonders.

Ok, lets start a discussion about the in-game wonders and important in-game buildings(by that I mean known buildings in the cities around Middle-earth). So anyway post your idea's. Here's mine:

    Prancing Pony

    Location:Bree
Effects: +15 Public Happiness(double that for Dwarves), Inn Ability(see Inn idea below)

    Golden Hall

    Location: Edoras
Effects: +20 law, Allows recuitment of King's Guard(or whatever the Rohan bodyguard will be called)

    Hornburg

    Location: Helm's Deep
Effects: +5 law, + Happiness, Allows recruitment of Helmingas

    Tower of Orthanc

    Location: Isengard
Effects: +20 law, Allows recruitment of Isengard bodyguard

    The Party Tree

    Location: Hobbiton
Effect: +15 Public Happiness, +10 law

Good idea and good list ccllnply.

First thing I can think of:

    The White Tree

    Location: Minas Tirith
Effect: increases law and happiness, allows recruitment of Fountain guards
It looks bad in the newspapers and upsets civilians at their breakfast...

Thats the whole point, add your own ideas. I don't know every important building in Middle-earth.

Anyway about my Inn idea, which I forgot to put in my first post, sorry about that. My idea was that in some random cities around the map, there would be indestructible and unbuildable buildings called Inns.

These buildings would act as sort of mercenary buildings. So if you get a control of one of an Inn you could recruit a special unit based on your faction and where the Inn is. So seeing as the Prancing Pony is in the north and is in Bree which will belong to Eriador, the Inn would let you recruit Rangers of the North. And any Inn that is in a coastal city and belongs to an evil faction could recruit Corsairs of Umbar.

Of course any units recruited from the Inn would take a long time to replenish so that you don't have 1000s of Duneidan (spl?) Rangers running around

maybe you can add(effects are only suggestion):

    stone of erech
    - increases law

    edhellond:
    - gives experience for recruited ships

    argonath:
    - increases law and happiness, maybe moralbonus for troops

    endless stair(durins stair):
    - increases mining income +100%

    galadriels mirror:
    - increases law, maybe trading income

maybe i have some more ideas.... later

I like it, The Green Dragon could produce Bounders!

Do we need wonders if the city already gives the bonuses?

Your thread is about settlements that give bonuses if a faction controls them. Mine is about important buildings around Middle-earth, its not the same thing. If I had of just post this in your thread it would have been off-topic and would have got lost somewhere in the middle and that would have defeated the whole point of posting it. So why close this thread and merge it in with a new one when this thread isn't doing anything wrong

the tower of helm's deep? (the tower that gimli blew a horn in the movie of the 2 towers)

    grey havens?
Glorfindel, the Lord of the House of the Golden Flower

...Glorfindel was tall and straight, his hair was of shining gold, his face fair and young and fearless and full of joy, his eyes were bright and keen, and his voice like music, on his brow sat wisdom, and in his hand was strength...

... the Elven-wise, lords of the Eldar from beyond the furthest seas. They do not fear the Ringwraiths, for those who have dwelt in the Blessed Realm live at once in both worlds, and against both the Seen and the Unseen they have great power...

    What about the palantírs?
The building could be called "Tower of [insert name of palantír]" and give bonus to line of sight, for example.

hmm Barad Dűr in Mordor on which the eye is.

effects: + 120 lign of sight; + 30 law; + 15 population growth; enable recruiting of witch king and Nazgűls (on horses)

    the black gate

effects: +30 defences; hardened gates + 50%; increased tower fire rate +15%; moral + 10 for defenders -15 for attackers.

I dont know if these things are makable, but its a proposition

They are called Nazgűl, The Witch King is their leader. And the tower is called Barad-Dűr.

hmmmm when thinking about it, making the witch king and the nazguls immortal would be very bad:
-1 for human players, it would make the game far to easy with these uber units

-2 playing as another faction, that would mean you could not destroy mordor faction..that would be imo the biggest problem caused by that...

I think making them retrainable but in very long laps would be the best thing. To be able to recruit them only once would not represent them well.

As for the "no man can kill them" I think that it was intended and they really not could be killed by men. Not mankind, meaning that a woman (ie Eoywn) could slay them, as well as dwarves, elves, hobbits (who wounded him) and so forth.
That means that we should give them a speciall ability like:
"bonus against faction Gondor, Rohan +4"
Just to represent there strenght against them.
