Yes, There is a common between us 3. It is the Father Abraham. Muhammad is a descendant to Ishmael son of Abraham. Issac is also son of Abraham. So me *Christian* is actually related to Muslims and Jews once you think about it.

Ethically there are almost no diffrentiations in the rules. Dont murder steal rape etc. and the prayers follow the same pattern, First its "god give us stuff" then its "god destroy our enemies"

The Jews and the Christians are related in the sense the Christians started as a Jewish sect/cult which rather quickly outnumbered the people following the Mosaic religion and therefore changed from sect/cult to religion.

Islam is related to both in the sense that Muhammad had a very approximate knowledge of both Mosaic and Christian religion and cooked his own religion based on them. Not to mention that both the Jews and the Christians of the time were into "messiahs" and "saints" and "prophets" so he probably hoped that some of the members of those minorities among the polytheist Arabs might find his message appealing. When you start a religion which needs to be spread by sword you need all the help you can get in order to be able to rob caravans and extort protection taxes from villages and towns.

The ability to remain secular while being affiliated to a religion is common to most religions in the modern world including some you have not mentioned, yet. Outside of the modern world this is obviousely different. The outside comes unfortunately sometimes to your door. Best is not to let them in, or else get a Doberman.

    pericles_plato,

No, you are not related to Abraham or Isaac or Jacob unless you too are a child of God. That is justified in the eyes of God by rebirth. Taking it that you are not of those then you are no more than a sinner separated from God and that for some reason many of you cannot understand.

Taking into account that Abraham was to be the father of many nations it must not be lost that there were already many nations on the earth with no affiliation to that man. And many who came through his loins as it were who would never know rebirth, Ishmael being an example.

They are pretty much similar even though some people being ignorant here. Each one coming after the other covers the previous ones. There is a reason they're called Abrahamic religions.

All three religions are quite different from each other. Islam and Judaism would be the most similar in their monotheistic nature and semitic roots. But still the key aspect that divides Judaism from Islam and Christianity is that Judaism is not a missionizing faith and does not aggressively pursue the idea of 'eternal damnation' the way Jesus and Muhammad did. The differences between Christianity and Islam should be obvious enough.

They obviously different but they're also similar. I'm sure you know the meaning of the word similar.

    The Dark Lord Seth,

No, you are quite wrong in these remarks. A Testament is a legal will obligitary to life. When that life stops the Testament ends. The death of Jesus Christ ended the first Testament.

His rising from the dead brought in the second or New Testament and that again is obligatory until Christ dies again. But we know that He doesn't since He is God and God is eternal and we know that He in death died for others, not for Himself, the reason for His rising.

However if Islam is a follow-on then it must be a third Testament based on Jesus Christ dying once more and Scripture makes no provision whatsoever for that having happened or about to happen. So Islam is not or ever could be what the two Testaments depict either Spiritually or legally.

Indeed Judaism as a religion is also dead in the eyes of God because there is now a second Testament, the Old having passed away, just as the Temple has passed away, the practises and ordinances of Aaron have passed away and it is all legal, something that is important to the Jew.

So the Law remains binding them and all others under it's weight for it's demands being that all must obey if one is to live and live by doing every aspect from birth till death. Therein lies the problem that both Judaism and Islam have and cannot get out of.

Both stumble over the rock that is God our Saviour and are happy to remain under Law. Now that is not the faith of Abraham because he believed God and was accounted righteous. As Christ said, if they believed in Abraham they would believe in Him. Why, because Abraham knew God, the seed that would spring from his loins.

Why would Islam need to involve Jesus? There is no reason to.

    TheDarkLordSeth,

They don't need to incorporate the name of Jesus at all unless they want some sort of authenticity to their version of the Scriptures since that is what Mohammed based his religion on.

Is not Islam about, from it's beginning, a denial of all that is believed about Jesus Christ based on an approach by Gabriel to Mohammed specifically to replace Mohammed for Jesus in God's affections, never accepting that Jesus and God are one?

But then, Islam has to deny the Lord simply because they cannot accept that He is Lord and God to replace Him with Mohammed. That would be ludicrous. But then all the legal matters never mind the types and figures that make for Jesus Christ have to be disregarded as if they never existed. That they do is what kills Islam.

Islam sees the former religions as twisted and corrupted. It sees Jesus as just a prophet. It's not a denial as it takes what you believe to be Christianity and Judaism as not the real Christianity and Judaism.

Actually basic, Ishmael was saved by God when he and his mother was in the desert. Sarah is almost condemned for sending them away.

It was Abraham who sent them away, after Sarah asking of him to do so of course.

Sara was jealous of Hagar. Hagar ran away with Ishmael and an angel came and said go back. Then later when Ishmael mocked Issac Sarah demanded Hagar and Ishmael leave. So late Ishmael made the Arabs who in turn turned Muslim by Muhammad who is a relative to Ishmael. I'm sure almost every one here knows the story of Isaac. Is it me or is Sarah a little crazy?
