Attack location?
Is there a way to force archers or artillary to fire upon a location, as opposed to attacking a unit?
Reasoning :
When defending choke-points, you can guess where the enemy will be, and thus time the attacks to be there.
When you have a line and want to fire right behind it into a mass of units. If you do so by telling them to attack a member of the horde, they are likely to fire upon the closest one of them, thus hitting your troops more than theirs.

Re: Attack location?
No, not really. Either you manage it yourself or they'll automatically fire on the closest target.
No attack ground, unless I'm mistaken. Look at the controls menu, it might be something like control A if it does exist.

Re: Attack location?
Doesn't exist.
This is something I've always wanted. This would allow you to have fewer friendly fire casualties by forcing your archers to fire way beyond the front fighting line.

Re: Attack location?
Is there a way for someone to make a mod to do this? You can give ranged attacks an area attack option, similar to the secondary attack option (alt+click). You can make the aoe a shape based on the type of attacker and their formation.
