What 'media'? (file type/compression used).
I can't even remember, it was three years ago. I remember it was for porn though.

It depends on the format of the video file, it could be .wmv, mpg etc so just google the format joiner if say wmv then type "wmv file joiner", you will find a boatload of file joiners for free.
You can still view the extension of the video file just enable them by clicking on:
My computer>Tools>Folder Options>Go to view tab and de-select "hide extensions of known file types" from it and apply the change to view extensions of your video file. Or simply right click the file itself and go in properties to view its format.

Anyways, windows media player or iMovie should be all you need to join movie clips together as long as they are correctly formatted.
