Athenian Shield Design

Looks like the archaic 'A' version wins, but if you like the other versions better you can get them here.

I've got three possible designs for the new Athenian Hoplite Shields: (1) 'A' shield with historically correct form; (2) 'A' shield with archaic form, that looks a little more exotic; (3) Gorgon's Head shield.

I like the Archaic A, maybe Athens is trying to play up it's historical legacy.

Plus asymmetrical patterns look cooler!

I like the gorgon's head, except for the tongue. It looks just too comical.

Otherwise the archaic 'a' is nice.

I vote for the archaic 'A'.

So apart from the shield/uniform will ther be any stat difference?

Will they only be retrainable in Athens?

Perhaps the Romans should be restricted pre-reform to only being able to recruit/train hastati/pricepes/triarrii in the Italian peninsular due to cultural prejudice etc.

I think the Gorgon's head might work better if you used a more frightening image for the Gorgon, something truly terrifying like this:

I voted for the Gorgon's head. It probably wasn't meant to be scary anyway, but it was used to ward off the bad spirits. But Whinehouse as a Gorgon is a freaking good idea!

I'll go with the Gorgon's head...I think back then it meant something more and would've probably been frightening having that shield smashed into your face.
