Look in the directory you installed RS. You'll see a folder called preferencesand other folders named data, BI, custom, saves, Miles, temp, etc...
Open the preferences folder.
When you do, open the preferences.txt file. Scroll down about 20-25 lines and you'll see
AUTO_SAVE:TRUE
Change it to
AUTO_SAVE:FALSE
Save the file and there you go![]()
No I it is not there. I think it is hidden which is what happened to my MTW2 prefarence folder and I can't remember how to find it. (Great game though, I can't wait to get past the republic legions.)
Do a search for the file in the RTW directory and change every one that you find...
if you havent played at all since installing git then it wouldn't be thr
installing rtw i mean

Yeah got that done but, I have a problem. I go to start Roma Surrectum and it doesn't start. My computer makes the noise it normally does when it is starting a game and for a brief second Roma Surrectum pops up at the bottom but goes away and nothing. This used to happen when I modded the game but all I have done is downloaded and played this mod.
So, does that mean you've changed preferences.txt and now have a different problem or this was the original problem?
If the game worked in the past and now doesn't after you changed preferences.txt - exactly what did you change?
You need to have the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM in the drive.
Make sure that the shortcut properties are set up correctly. If you think it's corrupted in any way you can delete them and create new ones. Simply find the executable in your RS game folder, click it with the right mouse button and then select 'send to desktop'. Once it's been created edit it and change the Target to;
"C:\Program Files\Activision\RTW RS MP\RomeTW-BI.exe" -nm -show_err -mod
and change the Target to "C:\Program Files\Activision\RTW RS MP"
My version of RS is installed in a folder called 'RTW RS MP'.
Do other games work and it's only Roma Surrectum doesn't work?
The following is the 'launch sequence' of RS 1.5a;
Click the shortcut and a 'splash screen' appears for a short period;
The 'Title Screen' then appears;
The 'Loading Screen' then appears;
After the loading bar is full the 'Main Menu' screen appears;

Did you rename it? I remember that happened to me when I renamed one of my mod shortcuts
