All Total War Games Except MTW and STW Crash

This started doing it a while ago. RTW and BI started showing these small dots that were either black, some kind of green and purple with I think some cases of red. On M2TW and Kingdoms they crash when I'm in the Options and perhaps the other areas and when I manage to get to a campaign these graphical glitches e.g lines appaering out of models. It happens with the other two but their grahpical glitches appear out of nowhere and in the end the game crashes. I also got the games scratches removed incase they despite being not a problem I was told were the cause of it.

But they still do crash. Is it my computer or Graphics Card because M2TW works fine on my Dads who has a better one then the one I have which I exchanged for his old one which is the same one. Nvidea 6600.

It's back - the message they left gives the impression that it may be a while but obviously not.

Edited: The list of games is not that impressive - I couldn't see Oblivion, for instance (let alone R:TW). It does have M2:TW.

Thanks everyone my computer used to be able to play all those games but it suddenly didn't. My dad put Rome on low settings and it did work for a couple of days but then it ended up crashing. I'll also check that site when it does come on.

OK, so what changed?

Sometimes when software is installed (or upgraded) it leaves all sorts of things running in the background - usually services.

One way to see what's running is to use msconfig. You need to work out what services are available at start up and stop them. You need to research what you can and can't turn off!

I now use a product called Advanced Windows Care - Personal Edition. If you use it for your own personal use (i.e. not a business) then it's free - http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html

This product also can help you remove old files etc. It does a scan of your computer and it's up to you to decide what to remove or not. The product has a handy 'on-line' look-up that let's know know what a service is and suggests if it can be removed or not.

Talk to your father about what it can do first.

Thanks I don't know exactly what changed but I know M2TW and Kingdoms would work with a new graphics card. But I'll use that program.

So, is it a new graphics card or something else? The more information you supply the greater the chance that we may be able to help. If you don't supply information we're just guessing.
