Purchased RTW: Gold through Steam...

... and am wondering, will I be able to use mods? I love RTW but form what I've seen and read I'd love to play with certain mods even more.

I don't know if having RTW: Gold through Steam changes things or not, other than not needing a CD...

I have the CD copy of RTW, so I wouldn't really know, but I doubt there will be any conflicts.

Pretty much the only way to get RTW - Alexander is through Steam, and I know there are mods out for that. I don't think people would make mods for Alexander if people couldn't use them .

makes sense. went looking at the game files earlier and noticed they aren't set up in any funky Steam specific manner.

You can buy RTW- Alexander now on disk either single or in a gold edition.

I'm quite sure any mods should work on a steam version. Because a mod is basically just lots of changes in the game files. If the game files are in the same format like you said, and the files are the same as the normal RTW, then it should be fine.
