To call one, you click your little shield icon thingy, and go to Pope. Then you should see a small blue circle and when you hover over it, it says "Request a crusade" or something similiar.

Well to join a crusade you must have a general with an additional 8+ troops if you have double click him and there is a blue icon bottom left of the scroll click that and away you go.

To start a crusade the pope must like you to find this out go onto faction summary scroll or press <o> (default button) and click the tab "Pope" there you will see how much the pope favours your faction more crosses=more Favour.

Also on that scroll where you see the crosses you can see a blue icon click on that it will bring another scroll with cities click one and click accept and away you go.

For me information consult your Medieval 2 game manuel. Pages 40-41

Yes, like the above gent said, simply have a General with 8 armies, make sure they are out of a city or castle, and right click on his portrait, on the bottom left on the window that opens there should be a "Join Crusade" option.

I recommend bringing several generals with you, as it gives them all lots of extra chivalry and command. Which is really great for governors and in battle.

Also, you should use a ship to get to your destination, and make sure your path to the city is as STRAIGHT and FAST as possible. If your army takes too long, your soldiers will desert. So if you go west or north when the target city is south east, you will have to deal with desertion.

On the plus side, you can now hire really cheap and quality crusader units and during the crusade, all units in your crusading army or armies have ZERO upkeep! So send some expensive units you have!

I hope that makes sense. If you have more questions, just go ahead and ask.

It is actually a general and seven units.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

ok, sense you now know how to call one becareful when you join. the reason being is that the holy land is basicly all muslim and if you don't have a battlion of priests with you... you'll end up with a bunch of angry citys that drain you money... like in real life.

no serously do ot take up the cross unless you have at least 15,000 in the bank as a minimum. the troops on crudsade may be free but when you reach the goal you now have a full stack of very expencive troops doing nothing but stitting on their buts.
