I just love how the trebuchets shoot...

For regular combat, Balistas.
- They are extremely precise. They, when positioned right, will mow down HUGE lines of infantry while breaking morale.

For prolonged sieges, Trebuchets.
- I love that diseased cow bit. And, they are one of the few which will throw for length over castle walls while on defense.

Basilisk is the all around best, but the serpentine is better at taking out infantry.

Mortar is the most versital artilery of them all. effective in taking down building and troops in both seiges and field. it's not as effective in the field as other advanced cannons but it's the only one that can really be effective in seige assaults.

in terms of OMG AWSOME factor though rocket launchers and Mangonels are ownage

but of course we're forgetting the best artillery of them all.

The cannon ball bounce effect makes the ballista obsolete, imho. Perhaps not cannons or culverins which have pretty poor accuracy, but the serpentine is excellent. The ballista is only really good when lined up to the side of the enemy, and then takes out perhaps 10 men i a straight line, unless several units pack together. Granted, every shot will hit. A nice cannon ball can make up for the odd miss though as it tears through the entire enemy line.

Serpentine is my favourite, in Kingdoms, it's the Mangonel.
