    Default Making use of both monitors

    Just finished my pc build last week and am throughly enjoying MW2. I am setup for dual screen on my pc. My question is while playing the game and want to be able to go to the other screen and surf the web or whatever else. Now i have been able to achieve this by running MW2 in windowed mode, but it makes for scrolling up and down on the game map a little challenging, because there is no lock to keep the mouse in the game. Is there any way i can bind a key or something so say for instance the mouse is locked on the screen running the game but pressing control (just an example), releases the mouse from that screen and enables me to move to the other screen. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. BTW I'm running Vista Ultimate

    I don't think so.

    Reason I wouldn't do it is having the internet going on one monitor and the game going on the monitor, you get both writing to disc at the same time. Even Vista enviroment isn't foolproof and files, usually saves at times get corrupted. Multitasking is great but the gaming platform isn't made for it.

    Well since you mentioned window mode. I rather ask the question here than make a new thread.

    how do you get MTW 2 into window mode?

    @century x,

    It's the .cfg file of some mods. The medieval.preferences.txt does not have it.

    In your medieval2.preferences.txt, below your [logs] entries, add this:
    [video]
    windowed = 1
    movies = 1

    Good luck.

    Thank you.

    Its different that RTW. In RTW all you had to do was edit the shortcut.

    any reason why when you put it in window mode, it only stays that way until you close the program? i'm having to add the windowed = 1 to the file and save it before i open the game every time

    Being all conditions are in a config file and calling on the hardcode to tell the graphics which version to use, I know of no way to toggle between them.

    Well it worked I was able to get the game into window mode. But I have to insert those

    windowed = 1
    movies = 1

    Everytime I load up the game. And I can't drag the mouse around in a battle. Like when I move it all the way to the edge of the screen, nothing happens the screen just stays there.

    So yea at least I learned how to do it

    Thanks

    it does take some getting used to moving the cursor on the map but windowed mode works well enough, thanks all.
