No Help in tech help, NVidia with RTW

I posted a request for help on May 15. No help from anyone on my question, not even a lame suggestion. Is there somewhere I can go for Tech help on RTW? I love that game.

I hope that some one in the community has an answer for my issue. I am new to this forum (obviously) so I may be following the right procedure.

I am also no expert or I wouldn’t be asking for help. I have searched other sites and forums, I have attempted in vain to contact Nvidia and Microsoft (I am running windows Vista)I am a major fan of RTW. Since loading it on my new computer with Windows Vista and and new NVidia 8600 GT OC card made by BFG. RTW crashes periodically during battle sequences. The picture looks like electric static is going through it first then a crash, sometimes a blue screen dump then crash. It causes the graphics in every program to go bad and I have to either reload the drivers for Nvidia or restart.I have all the latest drivers and Microsoft says its Nvidia fault and Nvida says its Vistas fault. Does anyone have a solution?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled.
I have tried in regular mode and Windows 98 compatibility mode.
I have bought the new Gold edition hoping it would run better
I purchased the internet download of RTW from Direct drive 2 hoping that would help.
I tried with Nvidia 7300 and 7600 before it acts the same with all three cards.
The problem still reoccurs in the same way.

Vista and games are not compatible, period, no matter what Microsoft says.In M2TW tech forum is a sticky thread dealing with Vista issues and since it uses the same 3d engine as RTW it is very relevant to you, also.

Since you want to get pissed off about not getting any answers, these questions have been asked many times in a myaiad of ways. To set the record straight heat and graphics cards are a bad combination and will wipe out your screen in a hurry. I played RTW on an Nvidia 7300LE with no problems on default settings and with Vista so I don't what your problem is there.

THe only suggestions I have since you want to rant instead of being specific is list your computer specs, run dxdiag and post the results, go get an ATI card. The ball is in your park.

Does this also happen with other games?

As irishron has posted there are numerous topics of players struggling with VISTA. If you use the search facility you will find them.
