Default Help I Broke RTW (Well the bit I'm working on)

I've been doing an Osgiliath set and its been going great up until I finally decided to fix the texture I botched together from vanilla stuff. As often with RTW the texture was great in max but in RTW its stupidly bright and being a mainly white osgiliath texture it was pretty hard to look at. I've been living with it for a few weeks and finally decided to add some burn to the texture and get it dimmed down.

Now when I load it into the battle editor all the landscape and building textures disappear and are replaced by a neutral light grey.

Literally all I did was darken the image.

    Has anyone had this before?

EDIT: The roads I have made in the osgiliath set have some very wierd colour shading underneath the texture as when the textures all disappear I still have coloured poly's in the map underlay.

I also dont have a clue what thats about aswell.

Yeah it was the file compression which was wrong. Always use DXT5 (or something like that) dds compression with RTW.

    You didn't know that?
Yea, I knew something before Thor!

More had never really met it before...
...I had recently changed from a tga converted to the dds plugin for GIMP and the tga converter was specially written for RTW and so did the compression automatically. The plugin didn't.

There's plenty of RTW I haven't the foggiest about. Scripting, text files, sound files, a bit hazy on units...(goes on with long list)
