    Icon5 PAK - Skinning help

    Okay, here's my problem. I have RTW 1.5 and I used Vincetorix's PAk extractor to get the Unit skins. But I don't know how to get the skins into the game, pretty much the Paks. Does anyone know how to do that?

    Any help appreciated,

    Are you asking how to re-skin units in RTW?

    If so you need to create a folder inside data/models_unit called textures. Edit your skin file using photoshop or gimp (you'll need a DDS plugin) then save the new file using the original name to your new folder data/models_unit/textures it should then show in game. Hope this answers your question

    But i've done what you said but when I go to play the game. Nothings changed. I have v.1.5 if that helps with anything.

    You need to put new destination of your new skin in descr_model_battle.txt in data folder (if you just change texture):


    data/models_unit/textures/NEW_SKIN

    for unit which you reskined

    Okay, i've done that. It' worked all the way until I'm watching the loading bar right before I play a custom battle with the new skin and it just exits out. I then replaced the new skin with the right skin (not changed) but still called it NEW_SKIN, so that means the address in the dmb is wrong. I tried all these -

    data/models_unit/textures/NEW_UNIT
    data/models_unit/textures/new_unit
    data/models_unit/TEXTURES/NEW_UNIT
    data/models_unit/TEXTURES/new_unit
    data/models_unit/textures/new_unit.tga
    data/models_unit/TEXTURES/NEW_UNIT.tga
    data/models_unit/texturesl/NEW_UNIT
    data/models_unit/texturesl/NEW_UNIT.tga

    I'm going to try ever single one agin, but do you guys see anything i'm doing wrong? any other suggestions?

    if you've called your skin NEW_SKIN then thats what needs to appear in the DMB

    data/models_unit/textures/NEW_SKIN.tga

    I put the address in and it still crashes on me.
    Is it my game or something?

    It might be how the unpacking went, you might want to reinstall it or seek more help, it's happened to me once so I had to reinstall and re do it again but then it worked.

    also use the -show_err. thing at the end of the target line to see if it comes up as an error.
