I have not had a chance to bribe anyone so far in any of my campaigns. Even my diplomats that have 8 or 9 influence can't bribe anyone. Is this a glitch, or was bribing taken out in RS?
Thanks,
Confederate Jeb

The AI is made significantly more difficult to bribe/assassinate.

Hmm...so when would the bribe option pop up? When he has all the traits that make the bribe cost decrease?
That was a good idea, BTW, to make it harder. I was just wondering, since I like bribing cool looking people![]()
You should be to try and bribe any character, but don't expect it to work. If you have no bribe option, then you have a terrible reputation with the faction, such that they won't even listen to the offer.

Ah, so you need to be in good standing with the other faction. I see. Go figure. I was Pergamum trying to bribe an Egyptian guy.
Alright, thanks for the help.
You can still bribe armies. If they don't have a general/family member they will be easier to bribe.
It's still very expensive to bribe these stacks.
If you train up an assassin (by sabotaging buildings you can build up experience) you can assassinate generals / family members. Put a spy next to the character before you try and assassinate them. Be prepared for failure.

I was disappointed with bribing in vanilla.I mean when you bribe some people they should come to your side, no? So why do they all just disappear?
I think there was a mod for Vanilla that makes bribes make more sense by making the units bribed join your faction. Will you be implementing this in RS2?
because generally the units used by the other factions weren't available to be used by YOUR faction. the obvious exception to this was the Roman factions - with the exception of the gladiators and arcanii ( i think) every Roman unit in each of the 4 factions had an equivalent skin with the others, so you could persuade whole stacks of romans to join your side.

No, the reason some units disappear, is that they are not recruitable by the faction that did the bribing. If faction A bribes and army from faction B, then any units in the army that faction A cannot recruit (i.e. are not the owner of) will disappear.

Why not? It's a good thing, and it gives you the ability of using the units that your faction cannot recruit, and thus spicing up the things for the briber.I myself consider these bribed units as mercenaries, and its not historically inaccurate...
Do you realize how much work it would be? For every unit, you'd need a skin for every single faction. You are more than welcome to mod your own version of RS, but this something that is highly unlikely to be done.

I think I found a mod that does that thing on the ORG.I'm not sure how it's called though....
right, but if it's a mod for Vanilla, that means that they've got plenty of room to work with, in terms of unit limits, etc. we don't, and we wouldn't want bribing to work that way.
EDIT: Squid, how is it that you are SO MUCH BETTER at explaining things than me!? damn you!![]()

What I like is that rebel stacks and cities are far cheaper to brbe than faction stacks or cities.
around 200,000-300,000 in my experience to bribe a faction stack.
around 200,000-300,000 in my experience to bribe a faction stack.
How much would one general cost?
I've experimented with this - a lot depends upon how good the general / family member is. I've had to use up to 2 million in the past (cheating of course to test only).
Bribing in RS is a lot harder than other mods.
However, it's best to not have more than 50K in the treasury as your governors acquire bad retinues.

Not sure, they always reject my offers....
Besides, I only have a reserve of 1,000,000 most of the time. It must be more than that if the general is partof a stack. If I can find a general walking around on his own I'll give him a test at some point if you like. :p
I would need like 100 cities to get that much money. 1 mil? Ouch.![]()
