    Some useless settlements (in my opinion):
    the small coastal one between Trebizond and Tbilisi;
    Malta- let the island stand, but part of Syracuse (is that the one?);
    Crimeea should have only one, in my campaigns the Mongols ignore the second one most of the time;
    the castle below Thebes (is it Dongola?);
    al Suways, Alia (Mecca and Medina are enough, but shouldn't they be bigger historically?)
    If increasing the land bridges, putting Roskilde back and take out Lund; putting Gotteborg and taking out Skarra (is that the one?) ;
    and the one just near Hamburg takes the battles at the front lines away from Hamburg and Arhus and the AI will alternately take that poor little, less defensible town and between sacks and exterminations...

    Just a few bits for thought, since a new patch is back in the books.

If attacked by Wales, Ireland, Scotland, and France at the same time, you lose.

    One thing I really hated about M2TW vanilla was the terrible slow pace of the Grand Campaign. I believe my idea of getting rid of so many of the rebel settlements and making towns and castles start more developed was a masterstroke. KGCM should not be thought of as M2TW vanilla simply with Kingdoms factions added. It is better to think of this mod as the 4 Kingdoms campaigns added together on a huge map. The original design of the vanilla Grand Campaign was slow, boring, and tiresome and I am surprised so many M2TW mods stuck to the same formula. Rebels just represent no challenge whatsoever even to the AI. Why on earth would I change this mod to have more rebel regions? It is also much better to have a campaign start with realistic borders between factions instead of every faction starting surrounded by lots of rebels. Anyway, I am not arguing this point, simply showing you my way of thinking.

    Dave
    First, I never said anything about england/france, no insult intended, still don't understand where you and others got the English Channel from (Maybe the example of how Constantinople has one east of it, the 2 green arrows pointing in opposite directions allowing a crossing thats what I mean for sicily and denmark, while like in the HRE area there is a small river with a crossing but the other side of the river doesn't allow travel cause the terrain is mountain in just a small little spot). I did give an example of Sicily not having a crossing anymore, which as I also said wasn't "really" a big deal to me but as I also said I did like using that crossing to launch my campaigns into Italy after taking sicily or to get troops down through italy and launch an invasion into North Africa from Sicily or for quick defense, etc and so on.

    Then for the your second statement, I just wanted to see your thinking there/giving out an idea and I totally agree with what you said. Was hoping you could work more of your Total War magic but I understand where you are coming from.

    Thanks for answering, keep up the good work

    When I mentioned the english channel land crossing I was only explaining this for the benefit of everybody else. Because fans often asked me in the past to put this land bridge back in.

    First, welcome to the TWC forums!
    Now for a reply to your post:
    They are supposed to be empty!
    Menu crash fix added in this attachment. The installer will not add empty folders to the mod folder. So you will have to unzip the files and place the battle and Custom folders in mods\kingdoms_grand_campaign_mod\data\world\maps folder manually. This will fix the menu CTD's.
    You have to add the empty folders manually because the installer will not do it.

    For KGCM 4.3 can you please look at the unit stats i think Dismounted Chivalric knights ( sorry is misspelled ) should have more of a armor than Dismouted Fueldel ( sorry again ) Knights since time has past thier armor would become less protecting

    This is entirely because you have not installed KGCM patch 4.2 to the correct folder. IT SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLED TO MODS FOLDER. Please re-read the instructions in the patch download thread. It clearly says install to the Medieval II Total War folder
    Please read the install instructions carefully as well as the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) thread. Also check the technical support thread for known errors and fixes.

    I do not have MSN.
    If you are using Vista or Win 7 did you disable UAC for the M2TW folder before installing?

    Are you using the MEGAUPLOAD link from the first post in this thread? I just tried it again and it works fine. Try to disable your virus protection software and remove your firewall and see it that helps.
