    @kylecalderone,

    Please state which version you are trying to install? KGCM 3.0 or KGCM patch 4.1? If its version 4.1 that wont run then check very carefully that you installed it to the correct place:

    SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\kingdoms_grand_campaign_mod.

    How do I post my system log? You said it would help detect a bug, but I don't know how to do that.

    you will find your log entries in the med2 folder in a folder called logs open this file and just copy the last 5 lines and write and post here and paste the last 5 lines into it then we might be able to see whats up

    ah ok iceclaw add this to your medieval prefrence file(cfg) located in the main folder of KGCM

    [log]
    to=logs/auh.system.log.txt
    level =ai.ltgd trace
    level =game.script* trace
    file = game.script* logs/auh.script.log.txt
    file = ai.ltgd logs/auh.ai.log.txt
    [ai]
    ltgd_logging = true

    load your game up and when it exits go now to youthe log folder as i prescribed and copuy paste the last 5 lines on the last log found in the log file( it will make 3 seperate log files now in the log folder.

    Once you have done this remove that writing from your medieval prefrence (cfg) as it will tend to slow the game down as it sends vital info to the log folder

    When I did this for the first time last week I just copied his post and pasted it in cfg and saved it. Also Iceclaw, I have just realized that you do not want to go in to mods or preferences. Instead, once you enter medieval II total war folder you will see a file, not preferences folder, called medieval II preferences. When you place the mouse on it it will say file type is cfg. Open this and you will see the destination for what you copied from SF's post about logs(the text he provided). Paste it in and save and then go to your save game and crash again and you should have info in your log folder. Add the text and mimic the spacing you already see between sections(i.e.hotseat, ui etc.). I am not sure if this is important but I did it anyway. I will check this soon to see if I can assist you further.

    C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\preferences

    There is a folder called "preferences" in the M2TW file and the KGCM file, but no "medieval 2 total war preferences" folder.

    And it doesn't even give to option to paste.

    Thank you very much for your kind offer friend KGCM is a mod that tries to stay close to the original game though, and I feel that this would "change the look" too much. However +rep for your work.

    Cheers,
    Dave

    Iceclaw-only go as far as opening up the Medieval II total war folder. In that folder which has mods, preferences, saves etc. folders, there is a file called Medieval II preferences. The icon next to it is a file icon, not a folder. You do not need to go in to mods or KGCM folders. Are you with me on difference between folders and files? Mouse over file and it will say-file type CFG. Can you dig it? Have you found it? Check next post for JPEG image of open Medieval II total war folder. That is where you want to be.

    Here is what it looks like open. The medieval II preferences file, or cfg file is next to the last soldier with helmet icon.

    Ok here is what I did...
    http://hphotos-snc1.fbcdn.net/hs224...._5585543_n.jpg
    It didn't have the helmet icon but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

    I opened it in a word document because otherwise it lead me to a web page. I copied Soul Firez text at the bottom.

    Sorry for the brief absence Iceclaw.....Attached is how I think the cfg file should look. I have always opened it with notepad so I am not sure what happens when you use word. I noticed you have not spaced the added text so it is like the rest of the file. Note mine. After you save it like that you should be able to recreate your crash and then go to Medieval II total war folder and open logs folder and see files. Helmet icon not significant...I just meant file next to helmet icon back when you were still trying to find the location of cfg file. What/where does your crash occur?....on loading your saved games?

    Yes and every time I try to reload it crashes. Also, when I start a new campaign, about 30 turns after it starts crashing every time I try to reload.

    Heres is what I did.

    Now that I did that I the only thing I can here on the main menu is the thunder in the background. No music, and when I click on an arrow it doesn't give off the sound effect. I am just going to re install everything again...

    So what you did with log text looks right and you ran your crash again...so did anything pop up in your logs folder?

    Just one file in there? That's probably what they want to see so post the last five lines of it.

    yes ill need those last 5 lines of that log to see if i can figure whats causing you crashes as for the sound problem this may be whats wrong sometimes when you installa mod it changes things in the med2 medieval prefrences file(even stuff the mod you installed doesnt touch dont ask me why but it does it sometimes).

    go to the med2 folder look at your med2prfrences file(not the folder just the text file or cfg file and make sure the audio section looks like this

    [audio]
    enable = 1
    master_vol = 100
    music_vol = 60
    provider = Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio
    sfx_vol = 100
    speech_enable = 1
    speech_vol = 100
    sub_faction_accents = 1

    baring that my advice would been that the download was corrupted (did you download it with antivirus turned off as anti virus programes have a habbit of messing with files) if not download again with virus protection off then put the anti virus back on as soon as you have downloaded it

    There are 3 files. Which one? And now the sound isn't working on the menu.
