Yes, this has happen to me to. I think it represents them just sacking the city and continuing on their way. It's not until they get to a certain city (I forget which) until the event "New Homeland" come up and they get their first territory. I'm not 100% sure on this:hmmm:

and those mongols are headed your way

I don't think I've ever seen the mongols settle down but then I've only ever had them emerge a couple of times and I think I gave up on those campaigns fairly soon afterwards

I did and they screwed up my kwharezm shah campaign, my empire was chaotic enough as it was and then they start to defeat my armies everywhere, make me bankrupt and take away all my important cities.

I'm Ghorid in my actual campaign, whole India belongs to me, I first killed the Ghasnavids and own territories till the initial Omani lands trough up the river till1 town beneeth Samarquand (forgot the name). Thats a nice empire and I'm now in year 1210 or so.
When will the Mongols drop in? I cant wait for them, as they will clense the kwarezmians for me wihch ar bothering my western settlements...

No big deal, but if I can, I'd rather have the mongols take care about them lol...

I love that, I'm allied to the Shah, and I'm sending some troops up to there cap. ready to defend the horde.
Then, I'm building walls around Baghdad.

You need to be more ruthless.

When I faced the Mongols with Khwarezm, I had full star and full dread generals to face them and full skill assassins. I assassinated 90% of their leaders and killed the other leaders in Combat reducing them to rebels.

Assassins are your friends, use them.
Welcome to the Great Race 2015. Either IS wins or Iran bails out Assad in the nick of time. Whoever wins Iraq and Syria and everybody else loses.

ehm well I knew they would come sometime, but after I took all Ghaznavid lands and made them my vassal, I just turtled on an economy way and had to actually build up an army when the mongols arrived, which resulted on 1 against 3 stack battles for me.

the khwarezmians wont be a problem for the mongols and after that u might become their target, I for one think that your Ghorid armies are chanceless against them.

Hehe wicked bridge battles I'm gonna whip there arses (I hope)

We'll see how it turns out. I churn out pretty much money every turn, have a citadell (Ghazni) and spear making baracks in my citys. But most important is: AOR is disabled in my game MUAHAHAHAHA---->Uber units everywhere for everybody in the game!!At last!!!

well actually in my campaign the khwarezmians wasnt really bothered by the mongols other than devastation in the region the mongol army were... the mongols mostly just went around looking at things. It was the ghorids who put down the khwarezmians :hmmm:

I never use assasins against mongols, as even best assasins are nearly useless against them (unless u save/load, but I take this as cheating). So what I basically do is I don't overexpand before their arrival, developind what I can and prepare best unit stacks always campaigning with one general, so when those stacks arrive I attack with my best general their avangard, then just replacing troops in best general and attacking untill final victory, afterwards my leftover army is enough to conquer neibhours.

And for takverely, I'm also takverely (lechkumeli var), so beat the potatoes out of those pony driving, horse milk sucking barbarian mongyes!

You'll be a bit more worried in 1.1/1.5 due to the reduced AI stacking lowering the defenses of Khwarezm in that they won't be able to cover the ground with troops they way they can in 1.05.

Just thought I'd share that lovely tidbit with you.
Victory is gained not by the number killed but by the number frightened.
