    Default help with modding

hi. i want to add a mod to the biuldings to give citys a health boost. i know the file name in rome but cant find it in mdv2. it is something like descr_biuildings.exe but i cant find it. it is the one where you can change what each biulding dose. also is there anyway to stop the camaign ending . i.e. not let the counter run out? or at least make it last as long as possible. thanks

well I didn't quite understand what you said perhaps you should edit your post but I think one of your questions was if you could make there be no limit to turns in the campaign which you edit in descr_strat I believe and the other one I just can't decipher at all

    well descr_strat is in MedievalIITotalWar\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign

and now that I can read your first question I think your looking for export_descr_building.txt which is just in the data folder but you need to unpack the game in MedievalIITotalWar\tools\unpacker

you could edit the following values in the desrc_strat

    start_date 1080 summer
    end_date 1530 winter
    timescale 2.00

including the timescale, this currently reads 2 years per turn just lower the figure, then extend the end_date.

There should be any unpacker inside the tools folder in main MEII directory click the unpack_all.bat and agree to the terms, a black window should open running thought all the file the unpacker is unpacking i cannot remember how long its takes but that depends on your computer. also i think you need python installed on your machine. its been awhile now.

    You do need python

    Read Me
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    1. Installation

In order to use this tool, you need to download and install Python 2.5 from http://www.python.org/download first
What you are searching for is probably the "Python 2.5 Windows installer", so if you're unsure, just download and install this.

After the installation of Python, extract this archive to your data/text directory (inside the folder where
you unpacked the MTW2 files with CA's unpacker).

I think that is the readme for the modeldb checker, python is necessary for PY files, this is a BAT.

right ive just figured out that the files are there but not show and that i can find them by editing veiw settings so thats fine but now it crashes every time i enter a battle. i tested it on a different user and it works fine up to the unpacker being run ( even if you dont change any files manualy) and then keeps coming upo with a message saying an unspecifed error has occured and it will now close. please help.
