    Default Editing Trade Routes

Does anyone know if there's any way of editing naval trade routes? I was thinking of fiddling around (if it's possible) in order to make them more historically accurate. Ideally it would be nice to have a few much longer trade routes, such as Venice-Byzantium, Bruges-Genoa etc.

well thats an interesting thought but I think it's impossible to do this because the trade routes are automatically created but I'm not completely sure

I thought that was probably the case, but it's always worth checking...

I believe that there is a limit to how long a trade route can be, hence why there is never any trade routes between the Americas and Europe.

One way of setting up historical trade routes is to do with Europa Barbarorum did (I think it was them) and have "buildings" in the settlements that were on the trade routes that give bonuses to trade. For example "Silk Trade Route stop, give +1 trade or something).

I am not sure about the distance limitation. If you would remove change the water depth between the continents you should get a trade link, depending on feasibility obviously.
