Default No arrows from the walls

I was doing a siege to the castle of Toulouse (late campaign; 1227)
The Castle was held by rebels, when i attacked with my infantry, after having destroyed the maingate with artillery, i saw that no arrows came from defence towers....nobody of my soldiers has been killed while they were crossing the maingate (enemy's troops were in the central square)

Why did towers not fire anything??

Is it a known bug or what??

I still haven't done another siege so i don't know if the problem is still there...

    Thanks in advance

If there is not at least one unit on(or near) the walls, they won't fire!

As you said that enemy had all of it's units in the square, it makes sense that towers weren't firing!

Well, defences are not made onli of Archers, crossbowmen ecc...also the maingate and the towers normally FIRE arrows against enemy...the maingate was destroyed but towers weren't, and they didn't fire any arrow...

Enemy units need to be near the towers to trigger the firing of arrows. If the unit is near enough a flag will appear on the tower.
