    @ the first post...

    HOLY !!

Thats how you call a unit preview! Guys... please accept my total respect.

Absolutely brilliant. The elves were damn good, and now Gondor... OMG. What will happen if you release this mod? I'll take 1 week holiday, that's sure

    Sooo... shiny...

I think they are too similar, nice they wear uniforms, but they are similar at everything, at least different faces would be good, also I think they are too shiny.

A question: Will the entire gondorian military consist of all heavyly armored, mostly plated units? Will they have no light-medium troops?

I can't wait for Mordor. Can't wait for swarthy Easterlings in overlapping scale armour with massive axes.

    *drool*

Anyway it's really just the Swans, infantry and archers who need a tone-down.

Will it be like vanilla M2TW, where the unit skins change when they get armor upgrades from a blacksmith?

Not in the first release, or maybe not at all. It requires different models and such which would literally add months to the project.

Enough with the sneakyness, cough it up

Seriously though, do you think it will be implemented in the future?

Shinyness is good, but right now it looks like they're wearing silver armor.

I could appreciate roman type chest bands, and metal shoulder protection, and groin protection flaps, mixed with chainmail or, a mix of plate and chainmail. But full plate seems ... awkward.
Moreover, particularly the archers in full plate seem really unrealistic. Beautiful though, ... matching the movie again, ... but don't seem to fit the book or reality. Very awkward ...
But ... would I go with it just for having disinction? Yeah.

The reason I lean away from plate, in my mind, was that the dwarves seemed big on making chainmail. They were the king of armor makers. Even the mithril shirt was a fine chain mail. I don't recall what Thorin wore at the battle of the five armies, but his armor, whatever it was expensive probably beyond belief.

Who knows? I think the gondorian infantry here are well done models, beautiful but over armored.

So Shoot me now and get it over with.
These units are awesome love em! awesome awseome. ill rep when it lets me

yeah when i read the Return of the King I imagined the Tower Guard as having black tunics with the Tree on them and chainmail underneath. and of course the awesome helms. Acvtually in the book there is no standard frontline infantry ever described from what i could remember. All those mercenaries come out of nowhere instead but i bet Tolkien probably wouldve described them as wearing black tunics over chainmail and with the pointy helmets.

I would just like to thank the entire team of this mod. I used to be a fanatic for LOTR but then Rome came out, and then Medieval II so yeah i drifted away from all things Tolkien. After seeing this I watched all three movies again, and im gonna read the books this summer and use them for my senior research paper. I know this OT but i had to say thanks for bringin me back! + rep to anyone can when "IT" lets me. Again to KK, awesom man ! AWESOME!

btw The Hobbit is slotted to start filming in 2009 I believe. (Jeez that late it should of started in like 2004)
