    Default Add your own banner

Someone asked me to explain how to do it via a private message, and while taking screenshots and uploading them to imageshack etc... I decided it would be a shame if I didn't share what I knew with other people who might not know, so here goes:

NOTE: your shield and armour only show herady in post 0.950 versions of M&B
1 Download DDS converter 2 find it on google, it's free.

2 find the file banners.dds There are a few of these, called banners a.dds banners b.dds etc.. banners_a will do just fine. it's located in the Textures folder of your Mount&Blade folder

3 open this file with photoshop (Photoshop can open this and allows you to edit it) you should see something like this:

4 next also open the picture of the banner

5 rightclick the second picture the one of the banner and click on select all, next press ctrl+c to copy it

6 drag the selected part to the older picture with all the banners on it and just place it over an old banner

7just press ctrl+V to paste the new banner over the old one

8 save this new banners file as a photoshop file or a jpg file doesn't matter, make sure it's called banners_a or banners_b or wichever file you used.

9 open DDs converter and load the picture you just saved (in my case a photoshop file) and convert it to a dds file

10 I forgot to mention on the picture that the output folder is the place where the dds file is saved, in my case it's the desktop, move the new dds file from where it is stored to the Mount & Blade textures folder

you can find banners (including mine) or request banners here: http://forums.taleworlds.net/index.p...c,27143.0.html

Just right click on a banner you like and "save as"

    I hope this was helpfull

EDIT: could a mod change the thread title to: "how to add your own heraldry" I think it suits the post better
