    Default Archers and allR

    Right, I was editting my Sherwood archers in the export_descr_unit file for Britannia campaign. I wanted it to have armour piercing, body piercing, area of attack and launching. Therefore I added...
    stat_pri_attr ap, bp, area, launching
    But it doesnt work for me. The range, which i editted to 250, doesnt really work too. I heard somewhere I had to change some values in the descr_projectile regarding the range, but it looks confusing and I don't really know what to do. Help will be appreciated.

    if i'm not wrong, launching works only in charging. to next try do modify projectile

    Launching as in, when a siege weapon, eg, a cannon shoots, the projectile will launch enemies into the air. Thats what Im trying to do with the arrows.

    Hmm. Anyone?
    I'll try asking again.Perhaps I wasnt clear.
    First, I need to know how can I change my ranged of my sherwood archers too 300, as when i did it in descr_unit, they do not shoot as the same range of a mortar, which has an identical range of 300.

    Second, I wish to know a way where the arrows can pierce thru mulitiple units, with a attribute of body piercing, and also an 'area' attack, which can launch the unit sin the air, quite similarly to how a cannon shot does.

    descr_area_effects.xml and descr_projectile.txt deal with what the projectile can do. Don't know much about them unfortunately though some values are self-explanatory.

    Ah yes thats what I thought, but what matters is the range, and my ever-ranting of wanting the area effect of damage with launching.

    I tried to put my sherwood range to 450, that of a basilisk, but it doesnt work. I've meddled with the projectile file loads of time, and Im really frustrated. If someone could do this for me, I would greatly appreciate it.

    I think the velocity in descr_projectile determines the range too try increasing that and see if your range increases to the distance in the EDU

    Yea but there are two values for velocity, and there many types of arrows, like bodkin and composite.
    For velocity, which value4s do I change?
    'velocity 20 48'?

    Ever heard of trial and error. Try it out. Increase one value and lower the other. It usually works for me.

    Hmm alright. Thanks for the help guys.
    Though I have one last question. What arrow type does a retinue and sherwood archers use?
