    Some ideas:

    - did you change the dlv config file from error to trace, to get a more detailed error report perhaps? This totally kills performance and should only be done for getting the report, and then switched back. If you have made this change in the main MTW2 config file the newly created DLV config file on reinstallation will still have this entry.

    - did you visit/download some shady sites yesterday? Could be a malevolent program killing your PC, what about other applications, do they run slower too? Scanned for viruses lately? Got mails with attachments?

    - installed anything yesterday? A virus program, any application that runs in the background? This could take away resources from MTW2

    That's all i can think of for starters...

    CCleaner... man's best friend.

    and AVG anti-virus is free.

    Figure out if it is just MTW or every other program that is running slow. Run 'Task Manager' and check if any processes are using lots of CPU power and/or memory. It looks to me that you are running low on memory or something is bogging down the CPU.

    If you reinstall remember to delete any old DLV files that remain or you will have problems.

    Before you reinstall, have you checked your config file?

    If this

    [log]
    to = logs/system.log.txt
    level = * error

    looks like this

    [log]
    to = logs/system.log.txt
    level = * trace

    that's the cause.

    I reinstall DLV 5 and 5.5 and everything is ok.....now i will install 5.6 and see if the problem appears.....again....but i think that the cause of all is the 5.6 but we will see.....?????

    Even the music in the loading map of 5.6 is full of bugs......I give up back to 5.5 i think till a new release comes out.....

    I have tried defragmenting from time by time, but even after 14 hours straight it still wasnt done yet. Point is that I use vista and the defragmenter with it doesnt show any progress during the process, is there any way for me to switch back on the one used by XP, so that I at least know how long I'll need?

    Check if there is any third party defragmenter for win vista.

    That just sounds wacko... These problems your are having with 5.6 are really unique.... A bunch of us helped out playing the 5.6 betas and noone reported these kinds of bugs.... ( music on loading map )

    Dude...Sounds like you need a defrag really badly and probably a registry clean as well. If a defrag was taking me 14 hours I'd be seriously worried about my hard drive.

    Make sure you have plenty of free space on the drive where your game is installed. This will help improve performance and free up virtual memory. I never have more than 2 or 3 mods installed at once because they take up so much space... And as the other guys said when you uninstall DLV delete the DLV_ext folder and clean up your drive first! Before you attempt to install the mod again.

    Ok
    Now i know where is the reason of slowing the game

    I bought 1 GB ram

    when i had 1gb ram
    loading strategic - 3-4 minutes

    when i have 2gb ram
    loading game - 1 minute

    Now the game is playable.
    4 gb ram for DLV 5.7??

    I run DLV 5.6 fine with 1GB of ram. Takes probably between 1-2min per turn. I do use a tool called FSAutostart (created for optimization of Microsoft Flight Simulator) to shut down any non-critical processes in windows. And I use CCleaner at least once a week.

    If you need more than 2GB to run DLV smoothly on at least a half decent CPU and video-card, you may have a bottleneck in your system somewhere.
