    Default Question about captains...

So I sort of got bored with the captain models for Ireland and Scotland, and instead replaced them with noble swordsmen/muire models, which works pretty well. The only problem I have is that when you aren't literally zoomed right in on the unit with the captain, he looks like blurry shiz, and sort of looks like the unit he is leading. Anyone know anything that might fix this blur? I put up an image of the captain, but whenever I screenshot what I see during battle, it doesn't show up in the pic.

Depending on your graphics quality, all units get blurry and 2D from a certain distance, however while taking a screenshot, the computer automatically turns up the settings to enable a good pic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it possible to remove the 2D effects if you have a computer that can handle it?

I know what you mean, but this is something different. It's really hard to describe without a pic, but let's have a go. The regular blur you mentioned is a good distance zoomed out from the unit, the blur I'm talking about is a lot closer (in terms of zoomage). The captain is the only unit that is blurry from about 20 feet away.

    @Meister Sibrand
In modelsdb I found "william_wallace2", should look like this, except for a few spacing issues:

    16 william_wallace2
    1 1
    76 unit_models/_Generals_and_Captains/William_Wallace/wallace_general_lod0.mesh 6400
    3
    8 scotland
    88 unit_models/_Generals_and_Captains/William_Wallace2/textures/William_Wallace_sco.texture
    91 unit_models/_Generals_and_Captains/William_Wallace2/textures/William_Wallace_normal.texture
    48 unit_sprites/scotland_Wallace_General_sprite.spr
    7 ireland
    88 unit_models/_Generals_and_Captains/William_Wallace2/textures/William_Wallace_ire.texture
    91 unit_models/_Generals_and_Captains/William_Wallace2/textures/William_Wallace_normal.texture
    48 unit_sprites/scotland_Wallace_General_sprite.spr
    5 slave
    91 unit_models/_Generals_and_Captains/William_Wallace2/textures/William_Wallace_rebels.texture 91 unit_models/_Generals_and_Captains/William_Wallace2/textures/William_Wallace_normal.texture
    48 unit_sprites/scotland_Wallace_General_sprite.spr
    3
    8 scotland
    62 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final General_scotland_diff.texture
    62 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final General_scotland_norm.texture 0
    7 ireland
    62 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final General_scotland_diff.texture
    62 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final General_scotland_norm.texture 0
    5 slave
    62 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final General_scotland_diff.texture
    62 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final General_scotland_norm.texture 0

Changed the .mesh from wallace to a noble swordsmen mesh (the first one under noble_swordsmen, mesh 121)

Then changed scotland's textures from this:

    8 scotland
    88 unit_models/_Generals_and_Captains/William_Wallace2/textures/William_Wallace_sco.texture
    91 unit_models/_Generals_and_Captains/William_Wallace2/textures/William_Wallace_normal.texture
    48 unit_sprites/scotland_Wallace_General_sprite.spr

    to this:
    8 scotland
    75 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/textures/mtw2_EN_Pplate_scotlanf.texture
    73 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/textures/mtw2_EN_Pplate_normal.texture
    52 unit_sprites/scotland_Noble_Swordsmen_ug1_sprite.spr

    (not sure what sprites do)

    and then changed:

    8 scotland
    62 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final General_scotland_diff.texture
    62 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final General_scotland_norm.texture 0

    to this:

    8 scotland
    68 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Special Heads_scotland_diff.texture
    68 unit_models/AttachmentSets/Final Special Heads_scotland_norm.texture 0

Trying to use the noble swordsmen mesh for ireland does have a problem, since ireland has no "Final Special Heads" texture, which is why the guy in the photo has a blue shield. I tried making one for ireland but I couldn't get it to work, but the scotland attachments do work.
